About us

Updated October 7, 2026

Shopnauta is a project by Demetrio Triglia, a web developer based in Milan. After years of working on websites and online shops he kept seeing the same problem: you walk into the store with a measurement in your head and come home with one can too many, or one too few.

What Shopnauta does

Every calculator starts from your measurements and ends with a list of things to buy: how many packs, in which size, of what dimensions. The dimensioned drawing shows you at a glance whether you entered the right numbers; the receipt can be printed and taken to the store.

How we work

  • We write every formula by hand and check it against examples worked out on paper.
  • The constants (coverage, consumption, density) come from technical data sheets and sources listed at the bottom of each calculator, and you can change them in the advanced options.
  • We don't sell anything and we don't show prices: the results are valid in any store.
  • We write the texts separately for each language, with the units and pack sizes sold in that country.

The method shared by all the calculators is explained on the How we calculate page.

How the site is kept running

Shopnauta is free and doesn't require you to sign up. In the future it may host advertising and search links to online stores: when they are live, we will say so clearly next to the links and in the privacy notice.
